PSV Piping Re Design

As a result of aqueous hydrochloric acid corrosion, existing PSV inlet lines had corroded and eventually leaked. In the past, leaking from the inlet resulted in a major plant outage and significant production loss. The Projects goal was to re design the PSV piping to avoid the Tee connection (failure point) and provide a lower stress piping run.

The complete vessel piping was modeled and numerous options where analysed before the final piping route was selected. Constructability, code stress and accessibility were all considered in the final design.

GN2 Scope included:

  • Piping stress evaluation

  • Piping detailed engineering including 3D modelling

  • Piping isometrics

  • Procurement support
